WOOHOO!!!!
Today is a good day. We have won the House and it looks like we are going to win the Senate!
I congratulate and thank everyone for their hardwork. Those that went out into the battlefield and knocked on the doors, made the calls, got out the vote! This is the delicious fruit of Dean and the Netroots' 50 state strategy.
Fight them everywhere!
Congratulations too, to Joe Lieberman. He ran an excellent campaign and, as a result, deserved to win. To the winner go the spoils. I still think he's a douchebag, but he's Senator Douchebag.
To those that thought that Dems needed to run away from themselves and deride the base in order to win... well... those guys (Rahm's hand-picked folks like Tammy Duckworth) lost.
Regardless of what Rush Limbaugh, Tony Snow and the Punditocracy are saying, our victory isn't because of "Conservative Democrats." Our victory is our because we stood up and unapologetically declared ourselves proud to be Democrats and Progressives.
I'll save the vitriol, the HRC bashing, and controversy for another day.
Now we celebrate!
"You think you can intimidate me? Screw you. Choose your weapon." - Eliot Spitzer, Governor Elect of NEW YORK
On day one everything changes!
Thank frakking God!!!!!

Yeah, Jon Tester, Heath Schuler, Mike Arcuri, Brad Ellsworth, Byron Hill, and, dare I say it, Joe Lieberman -- thank goodness those ultralefty progressive bloggers were able to show us the way! I'm sure they will help these very conservative Democrats see the light and we'll all be singing "kumbaya" together around the campfire soon. Wake up, fringe-lefty nutrootsers -- your influence within the new majority Democratic party is now waning, not waxing. There will be no impeachment hearings; deal with it!

Joe? Joe, hi this is Harry calling, Harry Reid. Loooong time no see there, Joe-meister! How're things by you and Hadassah? Listen, it'd be just great to catch up with the two of you some time, say like today. We should -- how do you put it -- grab some nosh. Lunch? Dinner? Just a glass of Ovaltine, perhaps? What's that? You've got Mitch McConnell on the other line? Sure, I'll hold -- take your time! I've got all day, if you need it! Huh? Say what? You don't think John Kerry would make a good Committee Chairman? Well, I suppose you've got a powerful argument to make there, Joe, that certainly sounds reasonable. And as to that extra set of lines on the Connecticut Turnpike that's been on your wish list all these years? Absolutely my top legislative priority, I swear it!

Dear Wake Up & Smell the Coffee:
Jon Tester and Heath Schuler were the bloggers' choice. They were netroots endorsed and I'd hardly say that Jon Tester is a conservative Democrat. Heath Schuler had Universal Health Coverage as part of his campaign platform. Yes, he's socially conservative.
Moreover, the bloggers and netroots are hardly "ultra-lefty." We are pragmatists. We also don't like Democrats who make a career out of bashing their own (ahem, Joe Douchebag).
The netroots won this because we got Dean in as DNC Chair, we pushed the 50 state strategy, we provided an alternative informational medium, and yes we lost some too.
In short, quit being an asshole and let's all just enjoy our victories.

There's a right-wing myth that the Democrats had to become republicans to win back the house and senate this year. The important thing is who the leaders are. It's going to be a very interesting new congress.

Get Morning star, read Testers oped in the WSJ where he calls out the Republicans for their war on the middle class and working families and tell me how conservative he is. And FYI he was a netroots candidate, if it weren't for DailyKos he probably woudn't have won his primary and we'd have another do-nothing DLC Republican lite Senator who caucuses with the Republicans when they need the fig leak of "bipartisanship" to hide the fact they are selling out the people who make this country great : the middle class.
